Welcome to Rust Empires. Since RE is a bit different compared to your normal Rust server, below are some common questions and answers to help get you started.
What do I do here?
The community of Rust Empires considers us to be Roleplay-friendly; have casual, structured PVP; and to be a social experience with PVE elements like our hub, dungeons, and quests – basically don’t expect to engage the same way that you would on a vanilla server.
We have a variety of interests here for you to explore: head to a city and meet new people, create an engaging RP character and make scenarios with others, make a clan and acquire land, do quests to earn RP to spend in the /shop, you can live a solo life and get a land claim just for you, explore a dungeon and battle NPCs, engage in community and staff events or make your own, and more.
There are many things available for you here and a great community for you be a part of.
Where do I build?
First thing, press M or type /map to view our claims map. The safest places on the server to build are frontiers or cities.
Frontiers are spots colored in green on the /map and are usually where you spawn in at. Once in a frontier, find a spot that is available. When you find a spot, check /map again to make sure its within the frontier limits and not on someone’s land. If you build on unclaimed land or on someone’s land, you can be raided so avoid doing this.
If you want to own your own land, you can claim land. Solos can claim in the light blue spots or if you have another person (2 minimum = you + one other) you can claim one of the grey spots. If there is a marker/image, name, or color on a spot already, it has already been taken.
How do I get around?
While we don’t have individualized teleports to player homes, we do have portals that will help you navigate the map. Portals can be found on the /map as train icons or in cities which have city icons. Other transportation options include minicopters and additional vehicles. If you type /copter you can purchase a mini-copter or type /buy to see the other vehicles we have available to purchase.
Can I be killed here? Can I kill others?
Unlike other servers, you aren’t allowed to kill people just anywhere. Illegally pvping/kosing others will result in punishment to you and potentially your removal from our server to protect everyone else.
PVP is located in the dark domes around the map – use /map to see marked areas. During special events, we may mark portions of the map as “No Man’s Land” which are also PVP.
Read more about other exceptions to PVP/KOS in our rules page.
Is raiding allowed?
You aren’t allowed to raid just anywhere like other servers. Here you are allowed to raid under certain circumstances.
Once you had some time to play on the server, you can go to our rules page and read the full eviction rules. In there is a link to the raid whitelist application. Once whitelisted, you will be able to carry out evictions in unclaimed land or on your own land. Also, look at /map for read the map key for sections marked as unclaimable/raidable.

I’ve been illegally KOSed or raided, what do I do?
First thing to do is ask for an admin in-game for help. If no one is responding there, head to our discord and use the #staff-help-and-questions channel and tag @staff or @admins. Since this is a volunteer project, you may not get a response right away but don’t panic, your items will be returned.
If you don’t get a response, try to tag @admins later. Staff get overwhelmed with requests so things get missed but if you remind us, we will get you fixed.
What do I do about toxic players or groups?
For players who don’t technically break rules (or get caught breaking) but are negative to the server experience. Use this form to report them, if they get enough complaints admins will review data and potentially ban them.
The more evidence you provide, the better.
Player X has been breaking rules, why haven’t they been banned?
Since staff are volunteers, we aren’t able to watch every player all day so things may go under the radar. We have had situations where players have issue with someone and yet no one complains so the admins aren’t aware it is happening. We need the community to help us and report any issues they see.
The other reason a player may not get banned is we don’t have evidence. We avoid banning without evidence, while this can be frustrating, this also protects you. If someone made false reports about you, we would require evidence of these reports before we would take actions.
So you can help us by filling out the toxic player report above and encourage others that have issues with someone to also fill it out.
