Thanks to everyone who took the survey this month. As always, we got a ton of good feedback from you guys which helps us decide how to move forward. We posted the results from the survey but we also like to respond to some of the written feedback from the community.
What is your least favorite part of Rust Empires?
An abundance of toxic regulars making the chat hostile
- Make sure to report toxic people. Video recordings of voice conversations and screenshots of text conversations work best. Don’t forget we have an anonymous report form in discord.
Apparently inconsistent or lacking of “punishment severity in line with the crime“
- Players don’t have access to the staff log of all player issues, everything is logged and we have a document that details each situation. So sometimes you will see 2 people commit the same crime with different punishments. Player 1 could be on strike 4, player 2 could be getting their first strike. Of course, as a player all you see is the final step. We don’t publish the list of player strikes or discuss bans since we don’t like to air players dirty laundry and ruin a player’s chance at making friends here. We’ve had people get banned, come back and start over and become well respected members of our community.
If you could change or add one thing to Rust Empires, what would it be?
More purchasable premiums like cars, chinooks, HORSES that have a store command like minis
- More items will be getting added soon. Stay tuned.
Change conclave
- When giving feedback, the more information the better. We’d love player feedback on how to modify the conclave, but this information doesn’t tell us which direction you would like us to go.
Add in an electronic jail in game that first time rule breakers are tossed into, kinda like an escape room, where the only way out is to pass a test about server rules, with any further rule violations resulting in harsher punishments, severity based on how disruptive their violation was.
- Great idea. We should totally do this.
That we have more quests to complete, such as fishing, building bases, growing plants (aka farming), it would give the server even more of a RP experience for those that enjoy it.
- Unfortunately the quest plugin is very limited in what we can do. We’d love to add way more stuff to it but its limited to looting, killing, crafting generic items. If they ever update it to be more complex, we will utilize it 100%.
Hex style land claim tiles instead of arbitrarily drawn borders“
- Empires was created when an old server (RF) died and its old staff members split off into making multiple servers. We preferred the hand drawn look and believe it also helps distinguish us from those other servers.

Do more events like the car racing that we did in previous wipe
- Done and done. Multiple races have been created and this wipe we have them set to go off every hour or so. Now you no longer need to wait for an admin to be on to trigger the race. Expect some more fun stuff like this coming soon.
