Admins and mods will aid in investigating player reports and concerns.
Mods and admins will document all warnings/encounters and keep team updated on any concerns.
If an admin or mod has time/is available, he/she can assist with /sil signs for players upon request as long as images are appropriate in/outside of bases.
Mods have purple names in game chat and in Discord – they are able to play like regular players abiding by and supporting the rules of the server. They assist in supporting community members and can jail/kick to aid in maintaining the rules when engaging with those breaking rules.
Admins have green names in game chat and in Discord – see section below for more info on admins.
If you have evidence of a staff member harassing, cheating/hacking, kosing, etc., send your report and evidence to the server owners at rust.empires.online@gmail.com or at #contacting-the-owners in Discord. Making fake abuse claims (publicly in-game, Discord, voice, etc.) can lead to a ban.
Do not post or spam other channels, messages, voice, etc. if you are looking to report a staff member – reach out with your report and evidence to the server owners at rust.empires.online@gmail.com or at #contacting-the-owners in Discord.
For emails to owners, make sure to include as much details as you can give us (dates, times, people involved, etc.) – we need details to investigate. Please give the owners a week to address/respond before you reach out for updates. We use data for all claims so we need to pull all available logs to conduct a thorough investigation.
Keep in mind that email to the owners is not for reporting day to day issues or situations that can be handled by staff.
Streaming/Media
Staff of all levels should not be streaming on Rust Empires. If they wish to stream, they need to play an alt. Rulebreakers are not content for other people.
When streaming, staff can’t be in any official staff channels or discuss staff business. Staff should be able to communicate openly so having privileged conversations in a format that can be watched by others is not appropriate.
Staff cannot post videos/streams/pictures that show staff tracking tools. Tools are not to be shared with non staff members to avoid people attempting to exploit these tools.
Admin General Rules
The admins may not raid, steal, spawn items for themselves (except for creation of community event), or kos players.
Admins cannot join clans with non-admin members. The only exception is if they have RL friends/family they wish to play with. Admins can’t make any ruling involving that group and that group cannot run PVP zones excessively.
Admins can participate in admin public/community events (unless running the event or co-leading) but only in a player status.
With the addition of admins playing on alts, admins can no longer join in the purge. If they want to participate in purge activities, they can join as an alt.
Every era/wipe, admins have the option to switch to regular player or to a mod without any penalty. They can resume being an admin the following era/wipe.
Admins should never appear in KOS zones/situations to avoid altering the outcome of an encounter.
Admin Alt Rules
Community server survey passed to allow for admins to play on alt accounts with no access to admin powers or mod powers.
For admins with alts, they cannot make calls on the following:
Any situations involving their alt or their alt’s clan
Any situations involving their allied clans
Admins can not build bases or provide any spawned materials/items to their alt or others’ alts, if other admins or owners find pieces of a building created by the admin account, those pieces can be destroyed without notice.
If an admin plays on an alt account more than their admin account/pattern of not addressing players in need, the Admin Council will remove their staff access and abilities on their main account.
Admin Council Rules
Responsible for investigating, voting, and responding to ban appeals and server issues.
Server owners will investigate any staff or player reports on staff; and Admin Council will vote on situation (if it involves an Admin Council member, he/she will not have access to investigation or voting).
Aid in daily land claiming/map updates, planning/running admin events, planning for special event weeks, and aiding in map wipes.
If a Council member fails to vote multiple times or does not contribute to updating the map multiple times, they will be removed from Council.
Council members aid in managing staff and providing feedback/training to staff.
FTP Admin Rules

Contribute to website and content management for Rust Empires.
Upload updated maps from Admin Council.
Responsible for following all admin and Admin Council rules (voting, ban appeals, etc. – see above).
