Though the battles had stretched across three years, a relative peace had held for quite some time for the isle inhabitants. There were less and less aggressors on the island, and those that remained took shelter in what the inhabitants termed, the Conclave. As seasons passed, the islanders shifted their focus to more peaceful efforts through building, learning, and celebrating the life that they shared together.
While the calm seas and gentle winds seemed to suggest today to be yet another quiet experience on the isle, it wouldn’t remain so for long. The emergency alert lights abruptly started whirling in their cases, jarringly pulling the islanders from their everyday routines. It had been over a year since anyone had sent forth a summoning through a series of spinning lights in each of the buildings.
Concerned islanders made their way to the town hall and began to occupy seats and benches within. As the hall filled and over spilled to beyond the entryway, a single man grimly pressed through the crowd to reach the podium. Captain Brooks stood before the gathered isle inhabitants for a moment before speaking,
“Many of us recall the efforts that it took to reclaim our isle, and we will never forget those who spilt their blood and sacrificed their lives for our freedom,” grey blue eyes swept over the islanders who remained silent in their places.
“Moons have passed and we have had fewer incursions on our lands with each passing. Many of us had hoped that the Conclave soldiers would never regain their strength and that the island would be ours.”
“One of our scouts found a letter with a riddle that indicates otherwise,” He unfurled the letter and spoke forth again,
Isle predators turned away;
Taken from home, pushed astray.
The tethers of land hold no more;
Not amongst caves or shore.
Building an army anew;
Preparing for an isle coup.
Yet one, weary of endless strife;
Wants to avoid an end by knife.
Redemption, a path to seek;
Though offerings of peace are bleak.
An inscription extended to your hand;
Can be found safely on your land.
Find it and be prepared;
To use for entry undeclared.
Secure the predators’ site;
Let us be rid of this final blight.
“Why are you putting so much faith into this letter? Anyone of us could have put it together. Or worse, it could be a trap,” a local physician searched Captain Brooks’ face awaiting the response.
The captain sighed before continuing, “After we got this letter, one of my scouts found the Conclave’s site. It’s real, but we can’t get into it yet. We’re calling it the “SkyHub”. We’re locked out and our weapons have no effect on the doors. Looks like this informant has a code or some information that we can use to get in.”
One of the younger islanders, too young to have anything beyond a scattering of scruff on his face, spoke up, “If you already are investigating this, why call us in?”
“We don’t have the offensive forces that we had previously. Every man and woman needs to help in the search to discern what the inscription is. If we wait, who knows what the Conclave soldiers will do. They have taken too many of our lives as is.” The captain pinned the letter onto the wall overlooking the hall.
Captain Brooks faced the crowd once more, and pointed at the letter, “Get the inscription and we’ll take the fight to them, together we can end this.”
Basics for RE1 and RE2
- There is a SkyHub filled with Conclave soldiers (aka a dungeon within the SkyHub).
- In order to get to the SkyHub dungeon, community members must complete a scavenger hunt across the island to find the dungeon code.
- If no one finds the code by Saturday, May 22nd evening EST, a hint will be posted @everyone in #staff-announcements in Discord. One hint per day will be posted afterwards to aid in the search.
- The first person or group of 3 on each server to find the code and access the SkyHub. Send a picture of you or your group of 3 in the SkyHub to Dezzie on Discord, Dezzie#4308, to earn the title of “Sherlock of the Isle” and receive a one-time use kit for Purge.
- The first person to complete this (only 1 person) and send the images to Dezzie on Discord will also receive a $20 steam gift card.
Island Competition: Tracking the Rust Empires Graffiti Tags
- There is someone passionate about Rust Empires and has an affinity for tagging, loose on the island. Capture all of their artwork and win recognition and a Purge kit!
- Look for the 16 graffiti tags across the island celebrating Rust Empires.
- The first person or group of 3 on each server to find the 16 graffiti tags and DM the pictures of the 16 graffiti tags and the grid loc/map coordinates to Dezzie on Discord, Dezzie#4308, will each earn the title of “Tag King” or “Tag Queen” and receive a one-time use kit for Purge.
- The first person to complete this (only 1 person) and send the 16 graffiti tag images and grid loc/map coordinates to Dezzie on Discord will also receive a $20 steam gift card.
Other Island Adventures: Recovery of the Lost Ship, the S.S. Empire
- While the island itself has been rich with treasure, rumor has it that S.S. Empire, the crowning joy of the Rust Empires fleet, could be in the surrounding sea. It was taken down several years ago when fighting an incursion of Conclave soldiers. If you fancy sea exploration, riches, and prestige – this is the challenge for you!
- Find the S.S. Empire and recover the treasures.
- The first person or group of 3 on each server to find the S.S. Empire and DM the pictures of the sunken ship and the grid loc/map coordinates to Dezzie on Discord, Dezzie#4308, will each earn the title of “Trench Explorer” and receive a one-time use kit for Purge.
- The first person to complete this (only 1 person) and send the picture and grid loc/map coordinates to Dezzie on Discord will also receive a $20 steam gift card.
